SPO runs away with rifle from Pampore police station, joins Hizb-ul-Mujahideen

Hizb-ul-Mujahideen on Wednesday said that the Special Police Officer (SPO) who fled with his service rifle from Pampore police station has joined the militant outfit.

Quoting the operational spokesman of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen Burhan-u-Din, KNS news agency said: “SPO Irfan Ahmad Dar, a resident of Nehama Kakapora of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, who fled with the rifle has joined Hizb-ul-Mujahideen.”

   

The spokesman, while quoting Bin Qasim, appealed the cadres of Jammu and Kashmir Police to give up their jobs and “join Hizb-ul-Mujahideen to give a push to the resistance struggle.”

Earlier, Superintendent of Police Awantipora, Muhammad Zahid Malik confirmed that the SPO is missing since last evening. 

“We have contacted his family and we are yet confirming if he has fled with his rifle or not,” said Malik. (With inputs from Irfan Amin Malik in Pampore)
