Srinagar-Jammu highway reopens for one-way traffic

The strategic Jammu-Srinagar highway reopened for traffic on Saturday after remaining closed for several hours due to landslides.

Traffic police officials said the highway re-opened after remaining closed due to landslides in Digdol and Ramsoo areas.

The landslides were triggered after night-long rains in Ramban district.

An official said that men and machinery were pressed into service to clear the landslide. He said traffic is being allowed to play from Srinagar towards Jammu.
