The teachers completed 96 hours of hunger strike and are continuing their protest against the government for its “step-motherly” treatment towards SSA teachers, Head teachers and RMSA masters.

The teachers are protesting against the government for denying them the benefits of 7th pay commission.

The condition of several protesting teachers deteriorated on Friday as the hunger strike entered fifth day.

Dozens of teachers were given medical aid after they fell unconscious during the strike.

The health condition of TJAC president, Abdul Qayoom Wani, who is continuously on hunger strike, is also deteriorating.
