Stop civilian killings: Qayoom Wani to Govt

Jammu and Kashmir Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) president Abdul Qayoom Wani today condemned the killing of four civilians by the government forces at Khudwani in Kulgam district, demanding immediate halt to civilian killings.

“Civilian killings can never be justified and people involved in these acts should be given stringent punishment so that such incidents do not occur in future. The innocent killings have shaken everybody,” Qayoom Wani, in a statement today, said, adding that an immediate independent judicial probe should be conducted into the incident to punish the culprits. Wani prayed for the eternal peace to the departed souls and speedy recovery of the injured. He also expressed solidarity and sympathy with the bereaved families.

   

He demanded that the government should put an immediate halt to the innocent killings.

Meanwhile, Wani said, “Playing politics on the rape and murder case of Asifa by Bar Association Jammu is highly shameful. It should be condemned from every corner irrespective of caste, creed, colour, region and religion. We demand stern action against the rapists and killers of Asifa. Senior vice president EJAC  Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam has also condemned civilian killings. GKNN
