‘Stop playing politics over the death of tourist’

Cautioning against playing politics over the death of a tourist in a stone incident in Kashmir, a Sikh Body has demanded a high level probe into the incident.

All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) Wednesday demanded that a time-bound enquiry into the matter so the culprits are identified and brought to justice.

Thirumani, a non-local from Indian Southern State Tamil Nadu was injured and later succumbed to his injuries after being hit by a stone at Narbal-Gulmarg road.

In a statement, APSCC chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina said, “It is important to expose the elements who are hell bent to defame Kashmir.”

He said that Kashmiris have always been hospitable and kind and have always ensured that no harm whatsoever is caused to the guests visiting this place.

“It is the duty of the government to expose the anti-Kashmir elements and they must come up to the expectations of the people,” said Raina.

The APSCC chairman expressed dismay that some “people have blown the incident out of proportion for their own ulterior motives.”

He said that people irrespective of their political ideologies have condemned the stone pelting incident adding that there is no scope for politics on the matter.

He asked the different media houses “not to give any communal tinge to the stone pelting incident.”
