The residents of Kangan Wednesday complained against the rising number of stray dogs in the town and the neighbouring localities.
The aggrieved people said the presence of stray dogs around sub-district hospital Kangan is frightening the patients and the pedestrians.
"Several times the school going children, woman, elderly people are bitten by these dogs in many localities including Kangan, Kulan, Gund, Preng, Kijpora, Akhal, Haripora, Khanan, Wusan, Chtergul Wangat, etc."
SDM Kangan Mehraj-ud-din Shah told Greater Kashmir that the matter has already been taken up with the higher authorities.
"People are requested to dispose of the garbage/household waste properly and take all the precautionary measures to protect themselves from the canine attacks," he said.
