Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani on Sunday termedhorrific incident of Sumbal area of Bandipora district in north Kashmir as ablack stain on Kashmir's social fabric and rich culture and also lashed out atthe role played by the enforcement agencies of the state.
"Such incidents are a black stain on our social fabric andrich culture and the bribery and a poor sense of responsibility both injudiciary and police administration has left the galloping crime rateun-tethered because of the Kashmir issue," the veteran Hurriyat leader said ina statement.
He said that the political interference in law enforcementinstitutions has infected and ruined the whole system.
"Kuthua incident, which has become a forgotten part ofhistory now, is a proof of failure of law enforcement institutions. At Sumbalangry mob have thronged on the roads and are demanding an immediate legalaction but the police administration remain mere spectators," Geelani said.
He also appealed to keep a constant vigil on the breedingsocial evils and fashions which have ruined Kashmir's social fabrics.

Massive protests were held in the area today with peopledemanding speedy trial of the case.
