Javed Ahmad Khan, killed by unknown gunmen last evening at Khandaypora in Awantipora, had been detained for two years in 2010 for alleged militant links.

Sobbing in a corner of his house, Javed's father Muhammad Rajab said, "I have lost two sons now. I had hardly forgotten my other son who was killed by security forces, but now I have lost my second son."

Javed's brother Gulam Muhammad Khan was an HM militant and was killed in an encounter on March 25, 2002.

Javed Khan was arrested in 2010 for "having links with militants" and detained in central jail Srinagar for two years. He was a post-graduate and did B Ed in the central jail during his detention. Presently he was a teacher in a B Ed college in Awantipora.
