In violation of the ban on deployment of teachers, the educational authorities in Srigufwara zone of this southern district have continued with the illegal practice, deploying dozens of teachers at “choicest postings”.
Giving details a source said a teacher whose actual place ofposting is Government School Charigam, has been deployed at Middle SchoolHangalpora, Nambal.
Another teacher who was actually posted at Primary schoolAshdar- Khiram continues to remain deployed at MS Hangalpora.
The data, accessed by Greater Kashmir, reveals that anotherteacher posted at one of the middle schools in Khiram has been deployed at MSHangalpora.
The list of dozens of such deployments, mostly of femaleteachers, also includes a male teacher whose actual place of posting is MSKullar. He has been deployed at MS Hangalpora.
Since the zone is without a full-fledged ZEO, scores ofteachers who spoke to Greater Kashmir said the decision regarding deploymentwas being taken by Zonal Education Planning Officer (ZEPO).
They said there were some schools in far-flung area runningwithout adequate strength staff, and services of the deployed teachers couldhave been used in such schools.
The ZEPO, Mouzam Ali, however justified the deployment ofteachers, in violation of the guidelines, citing “need basis arrangements”.
“Yes, there is a ban on deployment of teachers but it isallowed if it is on need basis. We have got those deployments approved by JointDirector last year,” said Ali.
He said after clubbing of schools in lower belt of the zone,surplus staff was deployed to schools of higher belt.
But when asked about dozens of schools in higher belt facingteacher shortage, Ali ducked the question.
Director School Education Kashmir, Muhammad Younis Malik,assured of looking into the issue. “I will ensure rationalization of teacherstakes places in the zone and the problem of staff crunch is addressed,” Maliksaid.
