Srinagar, Nov 4: A 17-year-old scooty rider died after he was hit by a truck at Kousarbal area of Damhal Hanjipora in south Kashmir’s Kulgam on Thursday afternoon, an official said.
Quoting the official, news agency KNO reported that the truck bearing registration number JK05E- 5457 driven by one Yaseen Hakeem, son of Ghulam Ahmad of Zoonimar Srinagar hit the scooty bearing registration number JK18C-3955 driven by one Burhan Rashid, son of Abdul Rashid Thokar of D H Pora, Kulgam.
Burhan sustained critical wounds in the accident, the official said, adding that he was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation initiated, the official added.
