TeM condemns Bilal Sidiqui’s detention

Tehreek-e-Muzahamat (TeM) has strongly condemned the arrest of its chairman Bilal Sidiqui and his shifting to Central Jail Srinagar, terming it as “the worst example of political vendetta’.

“Bilal Sidiqui was arrested this morning from his home and shifted to Rajbagh police station. He was subsequently shifted to Central Jail Srinagar,” TeM spokesman Shabir Zargar said in a statement.

“Every now and then authorities put curbs and restrictions on pro-freedom leaders. The detention of pro-freedom political leaders and activists is ample proof of their intolerant attitude towards the peaceful political activities,” Zargar said, while condemning the detention of Sidiqui.
