Srinagar June 16: Two Hizb terrorists were killed in a gunfight with security forces in Hangalgund area of Kokernag in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Thursday, police said.

In a separate statement, IGP Kashmir identified the slain as Junaid and Basit. Basit, as per IGP Kashmir, was involved in killing of BJP’s Sarpanch Gh Rasool Dar and his wife, a Panch on August 9 last year.
“Killed terrorists identified as Junaid & Basit Bhat of HM terror outfit. Terrorist Basit was involved in killing of BJP’s Sarpanch Gh Rasool Dar and his wife, a Panch on 9/8/21 in #Anantnag,” IGP Kashmir said. The encounter broke out today afternoon after security forces cordoned the area following a tip off.
