
Braving heavy rains thousands of people on Thursday participated in the funeral prayers of LeT militant Mohammad Amin Mir who was killed during a gunfight with the government forces at Zugoo area of Budgam district along with his associate Mukhtar Ahmad Khan.
Thousands of people from the adjoining villages of Khrew, Pampore, Khunmouh and Lethpora assembled at his home in Drangbal and raised massive pro-freedom and pro-Islam slogans.
Mir (30), according to his relatives, had joined militancy three months ago. Earlier he worked as milk dealer at Pampore. Mir is survived by his four elder brothers. His parents however had died a few years ago.
Dozens of women showered rose petals and candies on his body from the rooftops and windows of their homes.
