Three teachers suspended for attending political rallies in north Kashmir

Three teachers, including district president EJAC, were suspended after they allegedly participated in political rallies of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Peoples Conference (PC) in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday.

Deputy Commissioner Kupwara placed the three officials ofeducation department under suspension after they were allegedly found involvedin violating the model code of conduct.

   

The officials placed under suspension include GhulamMohammad Mir alias Fayaz Mir (EJAC district president Kupwara); a lecturer atHigher Secondary School Hatmullah, Zaheer Ahmad Mirchal; a teacher atGovernment Higher Secondary School Nawagabra Karnah; and Ali Gowhar Khan,Master Government High School Gundishart, Karnah.

An order issued by the DEO read: “The MCC teams confirm theparticipation of the teachers in political gatherings in violation of modelcode of conduct.”

“The violation of model code of conduct by any governmentemployee is a matter of serious concern as per the guidelines of the ElectionCommission of India and deserves punitive action within the purview ofguidelines laid down in this regard,” the order further reads.
