Traders’ body urges India and Pakistan to use trade as a tool for peace

Stressing that trade and travel should be used as a tool between India and Pakistan, traders body Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JKJCC) in its meeting held on Wednesday urged both the countries should channelize this tool to move forward on peace.

In a statement, JKJCC spokesperson said meeting was chaired by its president Javaid Ahmad Tenga in which various initiatives was deliberated upon.

   

Spokesperson of JKJCC said: “Free Travel and Trade regime between all parts of Jammu & Kashmi;  Travel and Trade as tool for peace between India and Pakistan, Trade and Travel as tool to move forward on peace” was discussed in the meeting.

In the meeting JKJCC president apprised members about goals to be achieved in 2018, while Hilal Ahmad Turkey  who is already president of  cross LoC trade Salamabad was elected  inducted into JKJCCI as  vice president, spokesperson added.

The meeting also decided to use social networking sites to create publicity about JKJCC, said the spokesperson, adding that it was also decided efforts will be made to organize first meeting of whole executive committee of all the regions simultaneously at zero point in Salamabad or Poonch and Rawalkote.

The meeting besides president of JKJCCI was attended by Mubeen Shah, Hilal Ahmad Turkey, Sheikh Imran, Mukhtar Yousuf, Mohd. Rajab Kuchai, M. Shahid Chowdhary, Mohd. Iqbal Lone and Zubair Mahajan.
