Traffic was resumed on Sonamarg-Drass stretch of strategic 434 Km Srinagar Leh highway on Friday after remaining closed since Wednesday evening.
On Wednesday landslides had hit the highway in Zojila area at zero point and other places, forcing suspension of traffic movement. The traffic was allowed to move on Zojila stretch at 2:40 pm on Friday, said a traffic police officer. “Traffic movement was allowed from Drass to Sonamarg and later it will be allowed from Sonamarg to Drass route as well,” he said.
