Tral best example of PDP’s betrayal in south Kashmir: G A Mir

Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee chief,  Ghulam Ahmad Mir, and party’s candidate for Anantnag Parliamentary constituency  on Thursday said that Tral is the most neglected area in south Kashmir.

Addressing a gathering atDragad Satoora in Tral Mir said, “Rising unemployment, mass arrests, lack ofdevelopment and unnecessary harassment of innocent people have made the livesof people miserable, resulting in deep alienation among the people of thisarea.”

   

He said that PDP gavenothing to people of Tral except pellets, bullets and mass arrests, which willcontinue to haunt the people for decades.

“The development process started by UPA -I and UPA-II wasderailed merely on political lines, those who got elected never showed anyconcern for the people of this neglected area, as result, the grievances ofinhabitants of this famous part of South Kashmir (Tral) remained unattended andunaddressed,” Mir said.

Mir also took a jibe at National Conference for what hecalled doing “lip service” to people of south Kashmir to garner support, butthis time south Kashmir has decided to defeat both PDP NC, which is indicativefrom the polling in Anantnag and Kulgam district in last two phases. “The claimsmade by NC and PDP are a political drama being staged by them to mislead andexploit people of Shopian and Pulwama districts. The people of these districtshave also rejected the opportunist politics by PDP and NC  for their dual standards and politicalexploitation,” he said.

Mir also addressed a public meeting at Lethpora Pampore andappealed the people to show their anger by defeating both PDP, NC in thepresent elections to put an end to the deception and backstabbing by both theparties, who he said, have equally exploited people, from time to time, forvotes.

“Congress is winning theelection in south Kashmir. We are  duty-bound to put an end to the harassment, mass arrests, besides curbing theemployment menace in south Kashmir, the safety and security of the people wouldbe our top priority, “Mir said.

The JKPCC chief wasaccompanied by senior party leader Haji Abdul Rashid Dar, Gulzar Ahmad Wani,Surinder Singh Channi, Hilal Ahmad Shah, Gulam Muhammad Mir and others.
