Tral shuts on second straight day against detentions

Shutdown continued on second straight day in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday against the detention of eleven people by the police.

The locals are demanding the release of detained persons, including students, employees and traders. 

   

Shops and business establishments on Saturday remained closed in the town while traffic was off the roads.

Police on Tuesday night detained 11 people, mostly family members and relatives of active Hizbul Mujahideen militants.

The detentions came in the wake of a string of attacks on Special Police Officers (SPOs) in the town.
