Forces have launched nocturnal searches and raids in Tral township of Pulwama district following a string of militant attacks on the special police officers in the outskirts of the town.
An official said that during the night forces remain deployed in strength across the town in view of the attacks on the SPOs.
He said that barricades were erected at all the entry and exit points of the town while raids were conducted at several suspected places.
Locals said all vehicles are being thoroughly frisked at various check points—Tral-Dardsara and Tral-Nowdal, set up by police and Central Reserve Police Force.
The government forces have set up 'nakas' at Tral, Aripal, Batagund, Seer, Dardsara, Saimoh and in other areas.
Superintendent of police Awantipora, Muhammad Zahid Malik said: " After the firing incident on SPO in Syedabad on Tuesday. We have intensified the domination of forces, patrolling and massive forces are deployed during night hours across Tral," said SP.
