Srinagar, Nov 17: The Resistance Front (TRF) commander, Afaq Syed was among five militants killed in two separate gunfights with security forces in Pombay and Gopalpora areas of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday.

The identity of the other three militants was not immediately known.

In a tweet, a police spokesman said, “KulgamEncounterUpdate: 02 unidentified #terrorists killed. #Operation in progress. Further details shall follow”.

The gunfights broke out barely half an hour apart shortly after security forces cordoned the areas following inputs about the presence of militants.
