Police on Thursday arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 6 kg charas from their possession in Tangpora area of Sumbal in north Kashmir's Bandipora district.
An official said police party laid a naka near Tangpora after specific inputs.
"During checking, 6 kg charas was recovered from the possession of two notorious drug peddlers," he said.
The official said that the duo was travelling in a Maruti-800 car bearing registration no. JK01V- 0401.
"The accused have been identified as Afroz Ahmad Wani son of Ghulam Muhammad Wani resident of Naninara Sumbal and Muhammad Amin Hajam son of Ghulam Muhammad Hajam resident of Tangpora Sumbal," he said.
A case FIR No. 84/2016 u/s 8/20 NDPS has been registered and further investigation have been set in motion, said the official.
