Srinagar, December 15: Two unidentified militants were killed in a gunfight with security forces in Redwani Bala area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district in the early hours of Thursday.
“KulgamEncounterUpdate: 02 unidentified #terrorists killed. Search going on. Further details shall follow, ” a police spokesman said.
Quoting a senior police officer, news agency GNS reported that the slain militants were affiliated with The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of Lashkar-i-Toiba as per police.
The encounter broke out on Wednesday night after a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in the area following a tip off about the presence of militants there.
