Two rounds of funeral prayers for slain militant in north Kashmir’s Sopore

At least two rounds of funeral prayers were held for slain militant Ishfaq Majeed Mir at his ancestral Brath Kalan village of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday.

Thousands of people attended the funeral prayers heldtwice to accommodate the huge rush of mourners coming from different parts of Sopore,Zainageer, Rafiabad and Handwara areas.

   

The mourners raised pro-Pakistan and pro-freedom slogansas they marched with the body of the slain ahead of his funeral. He was later laidto rest at his ancestral graveyard at Brath Kalan.

Mir was killed along with an unidentified militant in agunfight with the government forces in Babagund village of Handwara in agunfight that lasted for nearly 56 hours.
