The BUMS graduates of Kashmir have appealed government to issue advertisements for the various vacancies and to create jobs for over 1200 such unemployed youth.

"Ours is a big cadre of unemployed people since around two and a half decade who have always become the victims of change of guard," Baseer Hussain, a BUMS graduate, approaching the upper age limit, said.

The unemployed youth alleged that in the past 10 years only two posts were sanctioned through PSC in 2015.

"Time and again we have been assured about the possibility of being absorbed in government services," said Muhammad Haneef, another unemployed BUMS graduate.

The BUMS graduates alleged that a few of them have been 'adjusted' in jobs through AYUSH and NRHM but a great majority has nothing to look forward to. "Recently, only one post, that too for a blue-eyed person, was advertised by NHM," a Srinagar based NUMS graduate, waiting for a job, said. He demanded probe into how and why a partisan approach in recruitment was applied to BUMS graduates.
