Union minister reviews ongoing projects in J&K

Union minister of state for road transport & highways, Mansukh L Mandaviya on Friday reviewed the progress on the projects of NHAI, NHIDCL and ministry of road transport and highways taken up across Jammu and Kashmir. 

Officials and representatives from the respective departments presented a detailed overview and status reports of the projects during the meeting.

   

The minister interacted with various stakeholders and instructed the agencies to improve the processes in order to facilitate seamless project execution, delivery and completion, an official handout said.

Besides taking a stock of the flood preventive works and dredging being taken up on the river Jhelum, the union minister also visited Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) store located at Rajbagh, Srinagar.

The minister is on a two-day visit to the State and will be inspecting the ongoing work of Z-Morh Tunnel near Sonmarg tomorrow. The tunnel project will ensure all-weather connectivity between Srinagar and Kargil.
