‘Victims being summoned to police stations’
Ahead of the first death anniversary of Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Burhan Muzzafar Wani, police have started summoning pellet victims to police stations.
Mudasir, a pellet victim, who was arrested a month ago by the police said, "Police are calling us to urgently report to the concerned police stations. I am also expecting a call from them, because all the pellet victims of my neighborhood got a call."
Mudasir, who hails from Pulwama, said, "A month ago, police conducted night raids and arrested over 20 pellet victims, and we are expecting the same to happen this time around as well."
President of the pellet victims association, Mohammad Ashraf Wani said, "Police had come to my place also couple of times and were looking for me, and they are doing it with other pellet victims also."
"They have lodged FIRs against pellet victims and are calling them to police stations, and now they are arresting them too," Ashraf said.
Inspector General of Police, Muneer Khan said, "We have not arrested pellet victims, we have only arrested chronic stone-pelters, over ground workers and have seized number of motorcycles."
