Villages in Karnah demand regular ration supply

Residents of several villages in Karnah tehsil of this district on Wednesday expressed anguish against Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affair (FCS&CA) department’s failure to ensure regular supply of food grains at the department’s stores in different areas.

The residents said most of the government-run ration depotsin Karnah were out of stock, with the result residents were unable to get theirmonthly quota of ration.

   

“We made several visits to the ration stores. However, tilldate the authorities of FCS&CA failed to make monthly quota of rationavailable to the locals,” said Mushtaq Ahmad, a resident of Dhani village.

With restrictions in place, locals said owing to shortage ofration they were facing severe hardships. “The authorities need to ensureavailability of all essential commodities. We are living close to Line ofControl and often get caught in border skirmishes which add to our woes. Weurge authorities to look in to the basic needs of people living in theseareas,” said Firdous Ahmad, a resident of Saidpora village.
