Vohra may get 2 more advisors

Governor, N N Vohra may appoint two more advisors for running the affairs of Jammu and Kashmir during his rule, top official sources revealed to Greater Kashmir. . 

“Certain discussions have taken place in this regard,” an official said. Soon after imposition of Governor’s rule in the State on June 19, Vohra appointed senior bureaucrat B B Vyas and former DG CRPF, K Vijay Kumar as advisors to assist him in administering the state.

   

Jammu and Kashmir was brought under Governor’s rule after BJP withdrew support from Mehbooba Mufti-led government, citing a worsening situation in Kashmir.  

In 2016 when state came under Governor’s rule, Vohra had appointed ParvezDewan and Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, both senior IAS officers, as his advisors. Again in 2015, when Vohra took over the state administration after the 2014 state elections threw up fractured mandate and Omar Abdullah resigned as caretaker CM, he decided against appointing any advisors. Earlier, during a spell of Governor’s rule in 2008, Vohra had appointed H HTyabji, SS Bloeria and C Phunshong as his advisors after PDP withdrew its support collapsing the coalition government led by Congress party’s GhulamNabi Azad.
