Wani decries privatization of transportation of food grains
Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC), at a meeting today with its president Abdul Qayoom Wani in chair, condemned the order issued by the by FCS and CAPD on privatization of the transportation of food grains, terming it 'anti-employee, anti-corporation and anti-public'.
"The order has violated the SRO-157 in which it is mandatory for the government departments and undertakings to utilize the services of JKSRTC vehicles but under the influence of corporate houses and influential businessmen government has issued the order in violence of SRO-157 which has adversely affected the interests of SRTC Corporation its employees and in general public which is no way acceptable to employees of SRTC and employee fraternity in J&K," a spokesman of the EJAC, in a statement today, quoted Qayoom Wani, as saying while addressing the meeting, demanding the immediate withdrawal of the order, as according to him, it will hit the financial position of the corporation and its employees.
Wani said, "Protest call given by the SRTC Union on 9th and 10th January is justified timely and EJAC supports it.
Wani said, "The EJAC has put forth the demands of employees before the Finance Minister in pre-budget meeting particularly the regularization of all temporary employees working in different departments of state, implementation of 7th Pay Commission removal of pay anomalies in different cadres, etc." Wani warned the teaching community would hit the streets if government failed to release the salaries of these teachers and issue the regularization orders within 10 days.
