Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) president and former minister, Ghulam Hassan Mir Sunday said that empowerment of women is quite essential for the development and progress of society.
Mir while addressing one-day Women’s Empowerment Programme at Kunzer said that “men have to play an important role to empower women. it’s we who have to take the lead, and let’s begin today.”
Mir said that in addition to empowerment of women educationally and economically time has come to empower them politically as well.
Mir said that this is the right time to have adequate reservations for women in state assemblies and parliament.
