Banihal: A worker died while another was injured in a accident during the construction of the four-lane road near Banihal in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday morning.
SHO Banihal Nayeem ul Haq told Greater Kashmir that Sunny Kumar, 23, son of Khem Raj, a resident of Mano Kota, Gundoh in Doda district and Hoshiyar Singh, 24, son of Bal Krishan of Tipri Bajwa in Kishtwar district fell from a rock bolting rig when its wire snapped all of a sudden and the two were dashed to the ground.
In the mishap, Kumar died on the spot while Singh suffered injuries and has beem shifted to Emergency Hospital Banihal for treatment.
The SHO said that after medico-legal formalities, dead body is being dispatched to his native village for last rites.
A case FIR 129 under section 287/304A/ 337 IPC has been registered at Police Station Banihal in the accident.
