Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik today paid rich tributes veteran pro-freedom leader Sofi Muhammad Akbar on his death anniversary, reiterating pledge to take his mission to its logical end.
"Sofi Sahib was a great patriot and a selfless leader who instead of power and authority chose the path of thorns and till his last breath remained steadfast with freedom movement and resisted tyranny and oppression," Yasin Malik, in a statement today, said.
Meanwhile, a delegation JKLF leaders and activists today participated in a condolence meeting held at late Sofi Akbar's Mazar in Sopore. A prayer meeting was also held on the occasion in which prayers were held for the veteran leader.
Meanwhile, JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik visited Soura Hospital where ailing son of incarcerated resistance leaders Dr Qasim and Syeda Aasiya Andrabi is undergoing treatment. He met with the ailing child and inquired about his health.
"A child whose father and mother are both in jails has been operated upon and is admitted in a hospital and it was required to at least release his mother from jail, but tyrant rulers who know no humanity and moral values have not released her yet and this child is being deprived of his parental care," Malik added.
