A youth was detained during a cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) at Hajin in Bandipora district on Sunday morning.
An official said that a search operation was launched in Wahab Parray mohalla of Hajin t 11 pm last night following inputs about the presence of militants.
He said no contact was established with the militants believed to be hiding in the area. "So the cordon was lifted at around 8 am today," he said.
A source said a youth, namely Mushtaq Ahmad Wani, who is an activist of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front JKLF, was picked up by the forces during the search operation.
