The army’s Rashtriya Rifles (RR) on Monday organised a youth festival “Iris Anantnag-2020” at Anantnag Highground.
A statement said the event was held underthe aegis of 1-RR Battalion (MAHAR) as part of the army’s Sadbhavana initiativeto provide an opportunity to students and youth of south Kashmir to enjoycultural extravaganza.
The statement said the theme of thefestival was “Unity in Diversity” and different artists performed during theevent. “It also covered a constructive agenda of motivating youth towardssociety building and career counseling ranging from government jobs toentrepreneurship opportunities,” said the statement.
“The display of weapons and equipment aspart of ‘Know Your Army’, fun and frolic in the games pavilion and various foodcourts were a pleasant contrast to routine life of students yearning for stressbusters,” said the statement.
It said Major General, Anindya Sengupta,YSM, General Officer Commanding, Victor Force, and many civil-militarydignitaries attended the event.
