Youth ‘injured’ after forces fire at car that jumped barricade in Pattan

A person was reportedly injured after the government forces fired some warning shots at a car after it failed to stop at a naka in Wussan area of Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Quoting reports, news agency GNS said a car with four occupants sped away at a naka despite being signaled to stop by the forces.

   

It said the forces fired some warning shots at the car, resulting in minor injuries to one person, identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Parray son of Ghulam Mohammad of Khaitang, Baramulla. 

Another occupant Manzoor Lone son Abdul Karim Lone of Khaitang, Baramulla fled from the spot and is said to have received injuries in his leg but there was no official confirmation, said the report.

Following the incident, the reported, two persons including the driver of the car were detained. They were identified as Mushtaq War son of Bashir war and Javid Dar son of Ghulam Rasool of Khanpora.

However the police denied the reports of injuries. “There was no militant attack. One car didn’t stop at two Naka points. Some aerial shots were fired. No damage at all,” said the police.
