Srinagar: A youth was shot dead in Habba Kadal locality of downtown Srinagar on Wednesday evening, reports said.
Quoting official sources, news agency KNO reported that Umer Nazir Bhat (28), reportedly a shopkeeper, was shot this evening, leaving him injured.
He was shifted to the SMHS hospital where he was declared dead on arrival, they said.
Hospital authorities confirmed that the youth was brought dead to the facility.
The killing of the shopkeeper comes a day after militants shot dead a police officer in Nowgam area on the outskirts of Srinagar.
