Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) chairman Zaffar Akbar Bhat today expressed serious concern over the escalation of violence along the LoC, asking India and Pakistan initiate steps for resolving the Kashmir issue peacefully.
“The root cause of tension, violence and bitterness between the two nuclear neighbours is the Kashmir issue. Until both the countries demonstrate will to resolve the issue, the precious lives and property will continue to be lost and Kashmiris will continue to suffer,” Zaffar said in a statement. Meanwhile, Zaffer strongly condemned the killing of a Sikh youth in Tral area of Pulwama district by unidentified gunmen. Expressing solidarity and sympathy with the bereaved family, Zaffar said, “Such incidents are dangerous and those involved in this brutal killing must be exposed and punished.”
