A delegation from Ladakh met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi today and submitted him a memorandum highlighting various issues of Kargil district.

A delegation from Ladakh met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi today and submitted him a memorandum highlighting various issues of Kargil district.

The delegation was led by Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC-Kargil, Haji Muhammad Hanifa Jan and included Member of Parliament Ladakh, Thupstan Chewang besides others. 

"The delegation sought early execution of works from both sides of Zojila Tunnel on Srinagar-Kargil-Leh highway, special financial package for completion of various ongoing projects, inclusion of Kargil town in AMRUT scheme, early expansion of Kargil Airport, opening of Kargil-Skardu road, opening of Central University in Ladakh region, 100 MW hydro electric projects and solar power plant," a spokesperson of LADHC-Kargil said, adding that, "The Prime Minister gave patience hearing to the delegation and assured full support to address all the issues of Kargil district."
