A meeting of the All Private Schools Coordination Committee was held at the Tourist Facilitation Centre here on Saturday, a spokesman of the committee said.   

He said the meeting was chaired by Sheikh Nazir-ul- Mehdi Mohammadi.  The meeting was aimed at bringing to fore various issues regarding the conduct of exams of Xth & XIIth classes in the district. The Deputy Commissioner Kargil Gulzar Hussain and MLA Zanskar Agha Syed Baqir graced the meeting as guests, he added. The spokesman said the participants discussed that efforts should be made to ensure that exams are held on time and annual exams should be concluded by the end of October while bi-annual exams should be conducted in the second week of May.

Since there is no lack of qualified teaching staff in the district and of all the schools in Ladakh division majority of the schools affiliated with JKBOSE are in Kargil, efforts should be made for separate establishment of an answer sheet checking and evaluation Secrecy Center in Kargil which would be of utmost importance to address the cycle of problems created by the late declaration of results, the spokesman said.

He said the issues pertaining to the extension of recognition of private schools for a period of five years instead of the present two years and the red tapism involved were also raised. Murtaza Khalili, Principal MPS Baroo explained the issues in detail after the Memorandums were handed over to the guests. Haji Shabbir, Secretary Mutaharry Educational Society Kargil also spoke on the occasion. The guests assured that the issues would be addressed appropriately.
