Dorjay Motup (DM) Councillor from Kyubgyam constituency has been elected as the 7th chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh. Motup was elected unanimously by all the members.
“Before starting the election process all the dignitaries present in the House observed two minutes silence to pay respect to the departed soul of late Dr Sonam Dawa former chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, who passed away recently,” a statement here said. “Obituary note was also presented in the House.”
Later, the election to the post of chairman/CEC was started and Avny Lavasa (IAS), CEO/DC Leh invited nomination for the post of chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh.
“Gyal P Wangyal, council from Sakti proposed the name of Dorjay Motup and Tsering Morup councillor from Tingmosgang supported the proposal.
“No second nomination was filed by any of the members and the election authority declared Dorjay Motup elected for the post of chairman/ CEC, LAHDC Leh,” it said.
