Government orders additional restrictions in Leh
Srinagar: The district administration Leh in the cold desert region of Ladakh Monday ordered additional restrictions to contain the spread of COVID-19 amid a spike in the number of coronavirus positive cases during the past month.
Chairman DDMA Leh, Shrikant Suse issued an order for additional restrictions to control the spread of COVID-19 which includes plying of public transport with 50 percent seating capacity and suspension of public dealing in the district offices for the next 15 days.
“In the wake of a spike in the number of positive COVID-19 cases, the additional restrictions are hereby ordered that include all public transport to ply with 50 percent seating capacity,” the order said.
It said that public dealing in all district offices should also remain suspended for the next 15 days from 30 November 2021.
The order said that the district officers should share their email addresses and contact numbers amongst the public for quick redress of their grievances.
“Senior Superintendent of Police, Leh and Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Leh should ensure strict implementation of these directions. Any violation of these directives should be penalised under the relevant sections of Disaster Management Act, 2005,” the order said.
