Avoid road accidents: IGP Jammu to officers

Ramban, Dec 9: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone Anand Jain today directed senior police officers in Doda and Kishtwar and all other stakeholders to take all possible steps to avoid the road accidents.

Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone Anand Jain who was accompanied by DIG, DKR, Sunil Gupta, SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom and SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal on Saturday travelled by road from Batote to Kishtwar. He inspected vehicles plying on roads and checked road stretches prone to accidents.

   

To ensure the safety of passengers IGP personally conducted surprise checks of passenger vehicles and buses. Sources said IGP checked documents and seating capacity in passenger vehicles.

The IGP reviewed the progress of the installation of CCTV Cameras and other safety devices in passenger buses and directed the officers to make special efforts and ensure the installation of CCTV cameras in all buses plying on the routes of this hilly region.

Inspector General of Police Anand Jain assessed the road safety, and security measures and checked passengers’ vehicles. He inspected the model nakas points.

He also directed SSPs to conduct regular meetings with all stakeholders like civil administration, traffic police, ARTOs, transporters, and unions, and take all possible steps and efforts to prevent accidents.
