Flight operations disrupted by dense fog in Srinagar

Srinagar, Nov 21: The flight operations faced a brief hiccup at the Srinagar International Airport on Tuesday morning due to a dense fog, officials said.

Officials said that three morning flights were delayed due to poor visibility at the airport. “Three morning flights were delayed due to the fog,” Director Srinagar International Airport, Javid Anjum told Greater Kashmir.

   

He said the operation of flights resumed with the improvement in the visibility. “The flight operations are now normal,” he said.

People in the Kashmir valley woke up to a thick layer of fog on Tuesday morning as the minimum temperature plunged to season’s lowest during the night.

The local weather department has said that foggy weather is likely to persist till Nov 26. It said that Srinagar recorded the minimum temperature of minus 1.2 degree Celsius last night.
