For ensuring smooth, incident-free polling | Detailed mapping done in Baramulla: DEO Minga Sherpa

Baramulla, Ap 23:  The District Election Officer (DEO) for Baramulla Parliament constituency Minga Sherpa on Tuesday stated that detailed mapping of vulnerable areas has been done to ensure smooth and incident-free polling in Baramulla constituency.

Minga Sherpa was talking to reporters on the sidelines of an awareness programme organised under SVEEP at Baramulla town.

   

He said the vulnerable mapping, as done by the Election Commission of India (ECI) has been completed.

“In our constituency, the detailed mapping has been through SSP Baramulla and SSP Sopore. Adequate security arrangements have been put in place through the SSPs to prevent any untoward incidents,” Minga Sherpa said. He said all the volatile areas have been covered in this process.

“Along with this, arrangements for polling stations are underway, and training for our polling parties is going on as well. Everything is on track,” he told reporters.

He further stated that the notifications for the Baramulla constituency will also be issued from April 26, and nominations will be filed from April 26 to May 3, 2024.
