Tekkipora area of Lolab lacks proper health facilities
The residents of Tekkipora Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district have appealed to authorities for better health care facilities. The residents said that the hospital which was established a decade ago at Tekkipora has never been a priority for authorities. They said that this hospital caters to more than twenty five thousand population, but due to lack of staff and diagnostic facilities here, people look for other alternatives.
“We are forced to visit Sub District Hospital Sogam by commuting 8 kms for even a small ailment. If we had proper staff in our hospital, we would not have to face difficulties. We have been demanding proper staff at our hospital for several years now but to no avail,” a local told Greater Kashmir.
He said that the hospital was functioning without a gynecologist which gives a tough time to pregnant women. “We have been demanding posting of a gynecologist here but don’t know why concerned authorities were watching the hardships of people as mute spectators,” he added.
The residents sought immediate intervention of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kupwara Dr Mohammad Ramzan in this regard so that the hardships being faced by the people may end.
Residents seek upgradation of Mukam Shahwali sub centre
The residents of Mukam Shahwali in Drugmulla area of north Kashmirs’ Kupwara district Sunday complained about lack of better health care facilities in their area that makes them suffer.
The residents said that after the passage of several decades, successive dispensations have miserably failed to fulfil the demands of common masses.
Residents demanded that the health sub centre present in their area be upgraded to next level so that they can have the privilege of a doctor and their sufferings would be lessened. They appealed to the Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha and Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Mushtaq Rather to directly look into the matter so that the long pending demand of people was fulfilled.
Snow leaves Monidora cut off
Monidora village in Rajwar area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district is still out of bounds even after several days since the recent snowfall. The residents said that their movement has severely been affected due to snow covered roads. The residents appealed to authorities to clear the snow from the road so that their hardships may end.
