Jammu, Jan 26: Panic gripped the passengers of a Srinagar bound Spice Jet flight at Jammu Airport here on Wednesday morning after security personnel disembarked two youth from the plane followed by thorough checking of their baggage.
The de-boarding of the two passengers led to delay of around half an hour in the flight.
Some of the passengers travelling in the Spice Jet flight 851 said that the plane was about to take off at around 10:30 am when suddenly the crew cabin announced names of two passengers, Farooq Ahmed Malik and Bipesh Malik, asking both of them to report to the ground staff.
"The two youth were escorted out of the plane by the security staff of the Spice Jet," eyewitnesses said adding that no reason was given to the other passengers for the de-boarding of the two youth.
The security staff later searched for the baggage of the two youth, if any, left in the plane. "The flight which was on scheduled time was delayed for around half an hour giving anxious movements to the passengers," the eyewitnesses said.
They added that again at Srinagar Airport the boarding pass of every passenger was checked. "Probably they were looking for some one else also," they said.
However, the police officials refused to divulge details of the matter. "It was a routine matter and there is nothing serious in it," a senior official of Jammu and Kashmir Police anti-hijacking wing told Greater Kashmir.
Another official said that the two passengers were not having identity cards, which forced the flight staff to de-board them.
