Srinagar: One Kashmiri Haj pilgrim died and 26 others were injured when a bus they were travelling in overturned nearly Holy Makkah on Saturday morning, said a spokesman of the State Hajj Committee.
The bus was on its way to Holy Madinah when it met with an accident. The deceased pilgrim has been identified as Abdullah Sheikh (cover No. JK-33-4) of Kishtwar Doda. A former Tehsildar, Sheikh is the father of Sheikh Riyaz, the secretary J&K Industries.
The injured are: Ghulam Fatima (cover No. JK-59-8), Haneef Sheikh (cover No. JK-57-6), Naseem Begum (cover No. JK-52-9), Abdul Gaffar (cover No. JK-52-9), Ghulam Mohiudin (cover No. JK-52-9), Rashida Begum (cover No. JK-52-9), Aziz Wani (cover No. JK-56-5), Muhammad Abdullah Wani (cover No. JK-56-5), Amina Begum (cover No. JK-39-6), Abdul Lateef (cover No. JK-50-4), Ghulam Muhammad Naik (cover No. JK-57-6), Zaina Begum (cover No. JK-52-9), Kamaluddin (cover No. JK-57-6), Sajida Begum (cover No. JK-56-5), Muhammad Raboo (cover No. JK-52-9), Gul Muhammad Ganaie (cover No. JK-56-5), Zarina Akhter (cover No. JK-39-6), Parveen Iqbal (cover No. JK-50-4), Zara Begum (cover No. JK-57-6), Badsha Begum (cover No. JK-50-4), Arifa Begum (cover No. JK-52-9), Habibullah (cover No. JK-52-9), Ghulam Muhammad (cover No. JK-39-6)—all from Doda district, and Zaina Begum cover number JK-704-4, Muhammad Abdullah Reshi (cover No. JK-704-4), and Habibullah Bhat from Varmul district.
All the injured have been admitted in Az-Zaher Hospital and Al-Heera Hospital Makkah.
