Srinagar, Nov 9: Allama Iqbal Institute of Education, Kunzer, the educational organ of Allama Iqbal Help Foundation (AIHF) completed its 1st year of establishment on Iqbal Day.
The foundation, according to a statement had celebrated Iqbal day on Oct 1 last month with special reference to "Iqbal Aur Taleem". "State level dignitaries besides a jury of intellectuals, academicians and Iqbal's fans were present on the occasion and several personalities were honored for their outstanding contribution, the AIHF has recognized for the year," the statement said.
The awardees include: Muhammad Rafi, director school education Kashmir for his legendary status in "Public Relations and Work Culture", Dr Syed Muhammad Fazallullah, Director Research and Libraries for "Inculcation of Moral Values", Nissar Ahmad Ganie, Chairman BOSE for Administration", Dr Sheikh Bashir Ahmad Director Academics BOSE for "Academic Reforms and Localization of Curriculum", Dr Bashir Ahmad Nehvi HoD department of Iqbalyat University Of Kashmir for "Enlightenment of Iqbalyaat", Muhammad Rafiq Bhat of J&K Yateem Foundation for "Rehabilitation (Athrut)" Cardiologist Dr G N Lone of Tangmarg for Healthcare, Ghulam Nabi Sheikh, Educationist, Vice-Principal IMI, a native of Tangmarg for "Proper Education", G Mohi-ud-Din Wani Shakir of Tangmarg for "Social Service" and late Muhammad Akbar Najar of Ferozpora Tangmarg was Posthumously awarded for "Philosophy Of Iqbal".
The speakers, according to the statement pronounced the philosophy and concept of education of Iqbal. In his speech Dr SM Fazullulah said, "at a time when there is decline in moral values, need of proper education has arose to a large extent. Dr S Basher Ahmad deliberated on the concept of schooling and curriculum. Abdul Qayoom Wani, Chairman, EJAC distributed the "Legendary Status" prizes for the year 2006.
AIHF is an NGO working for the betterment of society in terms of proper education and the healthcare.
