Srinagar, Oct 9: Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad reviewed arrangements made in connection with Shab-e-Qadr and Jumat-ul-Vida for the facilitation of people taking part in night long and congregational prayers in important mosques and shrines.
He at a meeting on Tuesday asked the divisional administration to make adequate arrangements in respect of power, water, cleanliness and medical facilities.
The Chief Minister asked for details of steps taken by various departments. He was informed that the divisional administration had taken all measures to put in place facilities for the people thronging important mosques and congregational places like Hazratbal, Khanqah-e-Moalla, Jenab Sahab Soura, Jama Masjid and Charar-e-Sharief. Power supply, drinking water, medical facilities, cleanliness and sanitation in and around these places have been ensured. Similar arrangements have been made at significant mosques and shrines in other districts of the State.
The Chief Minister was informed that power supply would be ensured throughout the night even in areas where power curtailment was scheduled tonight. Diesel generator sets have also been made available as standby arrangement at major shrines to ensure uninterrupted power supply. Medical teams with ambulances have also been pressed into service.
