Srinagar: The Dukhtaran-e-Millat chief, Aasiya Andrabi on Friday said in view of mounting pressure on India at the international level, the situation needed to be capitalized instead of repeating past mistakes. She said the pro-freedom leadership should not squander the opportunity as it did in the past at the altar of meaningless talks, a statement issued by the party said.
Commenting on the increased political activities in view of the proposed talks between India and Pakistan, the DM chief said, "We should not shut eyes to the statement of Omar Abdullah at SKICC that agenda of talks with Pakistan is stoppage of infiltration. Besides, the Indian leadership is continually terming Kashmir as an integral part. This is all indicative of India's insincerity and non-seriousness on talks."
"On the other hand, Pakistan prime minister Yousuf Raza Geelani has rejected any deviation from his country's stand and policy that Kashmir is its jugular vein," she said,
adding that she was not apposed to talks on Kashmir issue if these held on the basis of the UN resolutions and without compromising its (Pakistan's) basic stand. She said the pro-freedom leadership also should make it the basis of their talks.
